The working styles that are involved in the ambulance service are the drivers of the ambulances, the person that relays information to the people in the ambulance when they have received a call for a concerned citizen, the people that keep track of ambulance location via powerful GPS that keeps track of ambulances wherever they are and the people that re on call back at the ambulance station incase a accident happens close by.
The impact on the working styles in my area has helped ambulance drivers to improve the way in which the ambulance service can reach accidents quickly and efficiently as the introduction of this new technology has helped to allow the ambulance service base to contact people within the ambulance which are within range of the said accident.
The impact of working styles on the London ambulance services has improved since the introduction of the new technology as they are now able to get the information on the where abouts of people from people calling on their mobile phones which lets the ambulance service dispatch ambulances a lot quicker then if the person was to tell them where they were, this is also very helpful in a place such as London as the area of London is very big so allows ambulances to get a head start.
Some workers have objected to the introduction of new technology because it means that they need less people as one person can track the location of ambulances while another receives calls, they would receive less money as the money would be spent on buy more tech for there service, there is not a lot of need for loads of ambulance drivers as some would be driving around waiting while others would wait at the base and because of the older generations of people may not be able to adapt to the new tech they may have to be left off.
If there is a power cut then all the information of ambulance whereabouts and calls coming in can cause major catastrophe to callers and the service and if the service has circular networks and one of the computers go down the whole network would crash causing people not to be able to get in to contact with the services.
The benefits of this system is that it has allowed the introduction of quicker response times to accidents as everyone can keep in contact and the base can tell other ambulances where to go as they know where everyone is so when an emergency comes in and the there is and ambulance close to it then they can send the closest one.
