Digital messaging VS voice conversation

The problems of communicating via SMS is that many people use abbreviations for words such as “gr8” or “ROFL” and if u don’t know what most of those words mean (like me) you could be left in the dark with no further information on what the other person was talking about, also another problem is that SMS does not give you any idea on how the over person feels as you can not see there face only a machine that receives there messages so you don’t see any emotion or facial expressions lowering the people skills some people have.
The advantage of using SMS is that if the message is not so important then it can be a useful way of keeping in touch if you are unable to meet the person you want to talk to.

The problems of using email is that many people like to add lots of information to it and add little emoticons like :( or :) and if us have to read lots of it some people do lose interest and won’t read it, also some emails could contain viruses that the person sending the email may not know about which could lead to an argument increasing the social problems caused by email.
The advantage of using email that it allows people form different countries to stay in touch which can decrease the social problems caused by email as it helps to unite people.
